Skräll angående MagnusMaximusCoffee.com och Cyclesport.se?

"There’s never been a better reason to stock up your kitchen cupboards with coffee, than to help support the MagnusMaximusCoffee.com cycling team. The team’s and their former co-sponsor have parted ways, effective immediately, and sales of former pro Magnus Backstedt coffee, will now be the primary financial income to support the team and its riders.

Sprocket Promotions (the managing company behind what has been Cyclesport.se-MagnusMaximusCoffee.com) advised the press this week that Mr. Dennis Nystrand, owner and editor of Cyclesport.se has been given notice with immediate effect that the team would no longer be working with him. Cyclesport.se was one of the main financial backers of the team, but due to actions taken by Mr. Nystrand on his own behalf, Sprocket Promotions feel that it is necessary to distance themselves from Cyclesport.se and Mr. Nystrand to protect their riders.

“There is nothing more important than making sure the riders in the team are well looked after”, said Martin McCrossan, managing director of Sprocket Promotions. “This team was set up to give riders a safe secure environment to turn pro and move up through the ranks, we (Sprocket Promotions) stand true to that commitment.”

“We would like to thank the cycling community around the world for their support in buying the Magnus Maximus Coffee. This will be even more important in the near future as we go at this alone with only the Coffee sales supporting the team. We are in this for the long term and we will work hard to find another financial sponsor.”

The team will fight on as Team MagnusMaximusCoffee.com and that also just happens to be the web address where you can brew it up while helping this group of cyclists pursue their dream."

Lite som när man drar undan sina barn från elaka hundar. Det var faktiskt ord och inga visor för en pressrelease det.

Detta kommer inte som en chock för oss som är insatta i cykelsverige. Lite synd om Nystrand dock, som jagat sin dröm om ett proffslag i flera år genom sin sida Cyclesport.se, och nu när han äntligen fått till proffslicensen så får han snabbt sparken. Eller samarbetet avslutas, då ju Cyclesports roll i laget har varit som sponsor. Dennis Nystrand har iofs varit "Director Sportif" också.
Även om det inte har varit uppenbart för alla förut, så borde det ju vara extra uppenbart nu att cyklisterna jobbar för kaffepengar.
